Pierogi Slow Cooked on the Barbecue Recipe
By admin on May 5th, 2010
This is one of my faveorite barbecued recipes. Pierogi are a traditional style of food that almost all cultures have their own form of. Light dough is made and wrapped around various ingredients. Pierogi are generally Eastern European style with mashed potato or cabbage filling. This can be mixed with cheese, onions, bacon, or whatever one wishes to put in for flavour. Personally I like to add a little bit of garlic, although I wouldn't tell my grandma that. The way I add the garlic is I melt a good amount of butter in a pan and add minced garlic to it. Allow the garlic to cook a little bit in the butter and let them merge into a sort of marinate. Then coat the pirogi in this and wrap them in foil. Keep the barbecue at 400-425 degrees and cook for about twenty minutes, longer or shorter depending on how crisp one prefers.
