Summer is unofficially here in the US and that means it's time to enjoy the best barbeque recipes on your grill. To make delicious rosemary ranch chicken kabobs, you'll need to combine ½ cup olive oil, ½ cup peppercorn ranch dressing, 3 tablespoons lemon juice, 1 teaspoon white vinegar, ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper, and 1 tablespoon white sugar in a medium bowl.

Cut 5 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves into 1 inch cubes, and place them in the bowl, stirring to coat with the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, but preferably over night. When you're ready to cook, preheat the grill for medium-high heat, and thread chicken onto skewers. Lightly oil the grill grate, and grill skewers for 8 to 12 minutes, or until the chicken is no longer pink in the center.

In preparation for the wonderful arrival of a new baby, my niece was asking me for some advice on how to get ready. Knowing her husband isn't very good at food shopping, I urged her to stock the freezer before the big day came! I told her it would be important to at least not risk running out of good protein to feed her family-and especially herself-after the baby's arrival. She remembered how little time or energy she had after the arrival of her first child, so she instantly agreed that it would be best to have the peace of mind of knowing a good supply of meat was already in the house. Still, she didn't find the time to go shopping, and the due date was approaching. So I suggested she turn to the internet. She said, "You mean I can buy beef online?" I said, "Darling, you can buy pork online if you wish!" This saved her time…and also put my mind at ease that at least that was taken care of! Besides, if there's one thing her husband is happy to prepare, it's barbecue! So he thought the meat was a great idea! Though my niece might prefer a lighter meat preparation for a while, at least both of them can reach into the freezer and easily start a meal! By the way, I have to say I was also glad to see that, even being older, I could still make a good suggestion on using the internet to someone of a younger generation!

Barbecue is all the rage in Arizona. But the barbecue restaurants here are taking the concept far beyond the traditional spice-rubbed ribs. A new group of barbecue masters in Scottsdale are pulling out all the stops with some very inventive recipes that include ingredients you might not expect to find on a grill, such as oysters and sweetbreads.

These fancy recipes cross into new categories that will please the fine-dining crowd and also appeal to true barbecue fans. At Big Earl's BBQ you can enjoy a traditional pulled pork sandwich or ribs, with a unique side like deep-fried pickles dipped in blue cheese, southern-style sausage balls with hot mustard, or fried sweetbreads with Green Goddess dressing. For seafood lovers, there are the barbecued oysters and catfish po'boy, and those with a taste for the unusual can order dishes like oven-roasted beef bone marrow with pickled okra, pickled pigs feet, and roasted pork belly.
